How to prepare a house for the adoption of a cat

When deciding on a new family member, there is a lot of excitement and joy. However, it should be remembered to prepare the house for adopting a cat, which is likely to be frightened. I’ll share with you some tips on how to make it easier for a cat to acclimatize.

  • At first, it is worth remembering that we never know how the cat will react to a new home. Therefore, to protect yourself from material losses, it is worth removing fragile items from the edges of shelves, tables, etc. A cat may accidentally drop something while running for cover.
  • If you adopt a small cat, remember that kittens are like children. They will try to eat different things, and they can check the cables, etc. It is worth looking through the rooms, whether there are any small, but dangerous dangers lurking behind our comforts.
  • It’s best if the windows and doors are secured. It is widespread for cats to lose their paws and even their lives because they are stuck in a tilted window. I use two types of security: mosquito nets and grilles. Of course, future tutorials will demonstrate exactly how to mount both of these structures on the window.
  • Prepare the cat hiding places in which he will be able to hide and observe the environment. The boxes, the closets, the desks, it’s all a good idea. The cat must have a short way to the prepared shelter.
  • Of course, do not forget to prepare bowls of water and food. A litter box will also be necessary.

My cat was an example of a very withdrawn cat. Ordinary cardboard was enough to gain confidence in the room.

It is best if the cat will have all these things provided in one room. The next step is to behave accurately when releasing the cat, but I will describe this in the following tutorial. Hold on!
